Deals, capital raising and IPOs

  • Lithium Americas is running like MP Materials, doubling overnight on a possible deal with the government. Momentum has softened, but more moves may come. After all, we are talking about lithium… Even MP had something to say about this!

  • Golden Dragon Mining $GG1 is set for a listing on ASX via A$5M raise; their focus is gold in Australia. Sanlam Private Wealth is the lead manager and the price on listing is to be A$0.20/share.
  • ATEX is now also trading on OTCQB $ATXRF in addition to TSX-V $ATX

Normally, we expect a lift in targets and weakness in acquirers, and often, peers to targets get extra love. For IPOs, we keep an eye on listing day/week, as big swings may point to opportunities.

Announcements and rating updates

  • Newmont Corporation $NEM price target raised 27% to A$140/share by UBS >> read
  • McEwen Mining $MUX says Argentina approved their $2.7B copper project for tax break program >> read
  • Lithium Americas $LAC gets upgraded to “Moderate Buy” (was Hold), target $4.15 by Cormark (obviously before what happened)
